Does anyone know why kidneys.....?

I have a form of kidney disease that is terminal. My question is - what could possibly be the reason that i hurt so badly if my clothing touches my kidney area? I have asked my Nephrologist and he just says that my body is producing a lot (sometimes 4-5 ) kidney stones a week and that is why it hurts to have pressure in that area. Honestly, it is almost unbearable even though i am on huge amounts of narcotic pain relievers! Anybody have any ideas about what the reason is for the pain or any suggestions to help with enduring it?
