How can I get rid of the mice in my house?

We live outside of the city and there is a c running in the back of my house and also some orange groves I don't know if it has anything to do with our problem but I think it might. We clean the house every day and I started mopping and cleaning the counters with clorox too because it has gotten out of hand. There are A LOT of mice in my house and they have started to run around even in the day. I even think my house SMELLS like mice. We have tried traps but every day we catch like five and sometimes the traps don't even work anymore. Its terrible! If you know how to get rid of them plz help!!
